Last Thursday and Friday the 7th grade students loaded onto buses and departed for Baltimore. They went to Fort McHenry which was used by the U.S. during World War I and by the Coast Guard in World War II, but it is best known for it role in the War of 1812. Students and chaperones also visited an art museum, the B&O Railroad Museum, the Baltimore Aquarium, and the MLB Orioles baseball fields between the two days. The seventh graders even went on sail boats and learned about the the organisms and animals in the water.

The eighth graders also went on a trip last Thursday and Friday. They adventured through Washington, D.C., visiting many historical locations and even fun ones too. The students visited the Arlington cemetery, where they ate lunch in the park and enjoyed “dancing with a lady on a pier” said eighth grader Gloria Leo. They also went to the Newseum and the Injured Veterans Memorial, where they heard a moving story by a young injured soldier, on how he actually became injured. A student favorite was the Hard Rock Cafe where they ate loads of scrumptious food. Students were also interested in the Holocaust Museum, The Black History Museum, and the Washington Monument. Girls and the boys enjoyed the National Mall in D.C. when they were able to wander through the mall and shop. A highlight for all of the students was when Cece Ward and Mariel Park had to sing “I’m a Little Teapot” because they were late to the bus.
